How to Add a Link to Your Bio
Every app hides it somewhere different. Jump to your platform below for exact steps.

Where is the bio on Instagram?
The bio field sits on your own profile, right under your name and above your photo grid. To find it: open the app, tap your profile picture in the bottom-right corner, and look at the text block beneath your follower count. That's your bio — and directly below it is where your link will appear once you've added one.
If you're looking to edit it rather than just view it, tap the Edit Profile button that sits just under that bio text. That opens every editable field, including Links.
How do I add a link to my Instagram bio?
Tap your profile, tap Edit Profile, then tap Links. Choose Add link, paste or type the URL you want to send people to, and tap Done. Back on the Edit Profile screen, tap Done once more to save. The link appears immediately underneath your bio text and is tappable for anyone who visits your profile.
- Open your profile and tap Edit Profile
- Tap Links
- Tap Add link
- Enter your URL and tap Done
- Tap Done again to save your profile
Can I add more than one link to my Instagram bio?
Technically yes — Instagram allows up to five links in the Links field. In practice, only the first one shows directly under your bio; the others are hidden behind a small See more links tap that most visitors never bother clicking.
That's why most creators and businesses use their one visible slot for a single link-in-bio page instead of a single destination. A soc.bio page gives visitors a menu of everything — your latest video, your shop, your socials — all reachable from that one link Instagram shows by default.
How do I make a "Linktree" for Instagram?
"Linktree" has become shorthand for any link-in-bio page, not just the Linktree product specifically — so if you searched for how to "make a Linktree" or "add a Linktree" to Instagram, what you actually need is a link-in-bio tool. The setup is the same regardless of which one you choose: build your page, copy its URL, then add that URL as your Instagram link using the steps above. soc.bio's free plan works the same way, with unlimited links and no time limit.
Is my Instagram bio link automatically clickable?
Yes, as long as it's added through Edit Profile → Links rather than typed into the bio text itself. A URL pasted directly into your bio description shows up as plain text and won't be tappable — that's the most common reason a "clickable link" doesn't actually work. If your link isn't clickable, double-check it was added through the Links field using the steps above, not typed alongside your bio copy.
How do I add my TikTok to my Instagram bio?
You can add your TikTok profile URL as your one Instagram link directly, but that uses up your single visible link slot for just one destination. A cleaner option is listing TikTok as one item on a link-in-bio page alongside your other socials — visitors can still find it in one tap, and your Instagram link slot stays free to hold everything else. Setting up TikTok's own bio link works differently, and it's covered in the dedicated TikTok guide.
How do I edit or change my Instagram bio link later?
Go back to Edit Profile → Links, tap the link you want to change, update the URL, and tap Done. There's no cooldown or limit — you can change it as often as you like, and it updates the moment you save. This is also why a link-in-bio page is convenient: instead of editing your Instagram link every time you have something new to share, you update the destination page once and your Instagram link never has to change.
What makes a good Instagram bio?
A good bio answers three things fast: who you are, what you do, and why someone should tap your link. The strongest ones are short, specific, and end with a reason to click rather than a vague sign-off.

How do I add a link to my LinkedIn profile?
LinkedIn doesn't put a link field on the visible profile the way Instagram does — it lives inside Contact info. Open your profile, click Contact info just under your name and headline, then click the pencil icon to edit. Scroll to Website, click the + icon, choose a link type (Personal Website, Company, Portfolio, Blog, or Other), paste your URL, and click Save.
- Open your profile and click Contact info
- Click the pencil icon to edit
- Scroll to Website and click +
- Choose a link type, paste your URL
- Click Save
What makes a good LinkedIn bio?
Your LinkedIn About section only shows the first two or three lines before people have to click "see more" — so lead with what you do and who you help, not a resume-style opening line. Since LinkedIn's Website field only holds one link, the same one-link problem from Instagram applies here too: a link-in-bio page lets that single slot point to your portfolio, calendar, newsletter, and socials at once instead of picking just one.
One page. Every platform's one link.
